Sofstarters for three-phase electric motors

 

 

Softstarters Siemens Sirius 3RW30

 

 

are the simplest and cheapest types of 3RW series.

They are designated for start up of motors with low load (the most frequent applications are fans, conveyors, stirrers, grinders,...). Soft starters of this series do not have current protection of drives integrated.

 

Key features:

 

  • For motor power outputs up to 55kW ( at 400V)3RW30 softstarter

  • Compact design, saving of space in switchboard (for example, at power output of 22kW the width only 55mm instead of 178mm for contactor combination Y/D – which represents 70% of space saving), above that only 3 conductors into motor are needed

  • Fast compilation of non-fused motor feeder by just adding 3RV breaker

  • Fast compilation of fused motor feeders in combination with thermal relay or static overcurrent relay 3RT

  • Controlling in two phases

  • Adjustable starting and stop time in the range of 0- 20s

  • Adjustable value of starting tension within 40%-100% of voltage rating

  • 2 x output relay for state signalization

  • Integrated bypass for energy savings

  • Option of control voltage either 110-230V or 24V (e.g. for controlling from PLC)

Soft-Starters 3RW40 series

 

differ from the cheaper 3RW30/31 series mainly due to integrated overcurrent motor protection and higher power output range.

They are designated for start up of motors either with no load or with low load (the most frequent applications are fans, conveyors, stirrers, grinders,...) Soft starters of this series do not have current protection of drives integrated.

 

Key features:

  • For motor power outputs up to 250kW ( at 400V)3RW40 softstarter

  • Compact design, saving of space in switchboard (circa 50% of space saving comparing with contactor combination Y/D), above that only 3 conductors into motor are needed

  • Integrated protection of both soft-starter and electric motor (setting and reset systems the same as for 3RV breaker

  • Adjustable starting and stop time in the range of 0- 20s

  • Adjustable value of starting tension within 40%-100% of voltage rating

  • 2 x output relay for state signalization

Soft-Starters of 3RW44 series

 

A category of so called "high feature" starters, thus starters suitable also for heavy start by controlling in three phases.

High standard, simple operating and broad diagnostic – that is being represented by 3RW44 series.

 

Key features:

 

  • In a standard wiring for motor power outputs up to 710kW ( at 400V)3RW44 softstarter

  • In inside-delta wiring for power outputs up to 1200kW ( at 400V)

  • Graphic display with control buttons to set and display values and error messages

  • Integrated protection of both soft-starter and electric motor (setting and reset systems the same as for 3RV breaker

  • Connection to communication module for Profibus-DP possible

  • Torque control and adjustable current cut-off

  • Dynamic DC breaking possible

  • Adjustable starting and stop time in the range of 1- 360s

  • Adjustable value of starting tension within 20%-100% of voltage rating

  • Integrated bypass for energy savings

  • Option of control voltage either 110-230V or 24V (e.g. for controlling from PLC)
